The city of Turin offers more than 40 important museums, do not to miss the National Cinema Museum (the highest museum of the world) located in the wonderful building of the Mole Antonelliana, symbol of Turin ( 167 meters high), and the Egyptian Museum, second in importance and quantity of finds only to the Cairo Museum. Tourists spending longer time in Turin have to take into account also: the new "Polo Reale" (Royal Palace, Royal Armoury, "Galleria Sabauda", Museum of Antiquity), the "Palazzo Madama", the National Automobile Museum, the MAO, Oriental Art Museum, the GAM, Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art and, just few miles outside Turin, the Royal Palace and the gardens of La Venaria Reale and the Royal Palace of Stupinigi.
Egyptian Museum of Turin
The Egyptian Museum of Turin is considered, for the importance of the finds, the most important in the
world and second only to Cairo Museum.

National Automobile Museum of Turin
The National Automobile Museum of Turin, unique of this kind in Italy, opens to the public from March 20th 2011
completely renovated and with a new exhibition path that will show the story of the car, its transformation
from means of transport to a cult object, from its origins up to the contemporary evolution of creative thinking,
tracing step after step all the society periods. The new National Automobile Museum of Turin, sets up by the Swiss-French
designer Francois Confino, is not directed only to the fans of automobiles but designed in a modern and
innovative way to engage a very large and heterogeneous people.

Palazzo Madama of Turin
Palazzo Madama hosts the Ancient Art Museum of Turin, which exhibits
very important objects of art including: antique sculptures, an art gallery and a vast collection of porcelains.

GAM - Municipal Gallery of modern and contemporary art
The Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery is one of the most important
museums of Turin. It offers a collection of over 45,000 works including paintings, sculptures, installations and
photographs, a rich collection of drawings and prints and one of the most important European
movie collection and artist videos.

Museum of the Risorgimento
The Museum of the Risorgimento of Turin opens to the public from March
18th 2011 with an exhibition completely renovated and divided
into 30 rooms, where the visitors can admire the 2,400
pieces selected from more than 50,000 preserved.

The Medieval Village of Turin
Created by a group of artists in occasion of the Italian General Exhibition
of 1884, the medieval village of Turin is a remarkable example of a 19th
century reconstruction of buildings and decorations of the late Middle Age.
In the village, roads, houses, squares and fountains have been rebuilt.
The designers were inspired by the artistic and architectural features of over
40 buildings of the XV century in Piedmont and Aosta Valley.
The fortress overlooking the village, reproduces parts, interiors and garden
of an aristocratic residence of the XVth century.
The medieval village of Turin is open (free) all days from 9 A.M to 7 P.M. (until 8 P.M. in
summer), the fortress is accessible by guided tours (approx. 30 minutes) from Tuesday to Sunday:

National Cinema Museum of Turin
The National Cinema Museum is inside the Mole Antonelliana of Turin, symbol of the city, and offers
a rich collection of optical equipment pre-cinema (the magic lanterns), materials of old and new movies,
movie's posters, costumes and other national and international memorabilia.
Inside the Mole Antonelliana a transparent glass lift hooks to the high dome bringing visitors
up to 85 meters, from which you can enjoy an extraordinary landscape over
Turin and, with favourable weather, the surrounding Alps.

New Polo Reale of Turin
The new "Polo Reale", Turin Museums Complex, brings together in a single architectural
complex among the city's most important museums such as: the Royal Palace,
a great example of 17th century architecture, that was the residence of the Kings of Sardinia until
1659 and then Vittorio Emanuele II until 1865; the Royal Armoury, one of the richest collections
in the world of firearms, sidearms, precious medieval pieces, Napoleonic relics and the armour belonged to
Savoy Kings; the "Galleria Sabauda", one of the most significant Italian art galleries;
the Museum of Antiquity of Turin, the most comprehensive regional
archaeological museum which offers, through a visit recently renewed and exposure
of thousands of exhibits, a wide panorama on the archaeology of Piedmont and other ancient
civilizations in Italy, from prehistory until the middle-ages.
Ticket office to access to the four museums is located inside the
Royal Palace, opens at 8.30 A.M. and closes at 6.00 P.M.
The museums of the new "Polo Reale" of Turin
are opens from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8.30 A.M. till 7.30 P.M. Closing day: Monday.
From 1st of June 2013 is available one single ticket that allows the access to all
exhibition areas of the "Polo Reale": Royal Apartments
(first floor of the Royal Palace), Royal Armoury,
"Galleria Sabauda", Museum of Antiquity. Fares: Full 12,00€, Reduced 6,00€.

Royal Palace of Venaria Reale
The Royal Palace of La Venaria Reale is one of the largest royal residences in Piedmont.
It has been opened to the public in October 2007 and achieved an
immediate success; the number of visitors increases year after year and at present this royal
residence is in 5th place in the ranking of the preferred tourists destinations with regard to
the Italian cultural heritage.

Royal Palace of Stupinigi
Located 10 km from the center of Turin, the "Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi" is a baroque masterpiece
designed by the architect Filippo Juvarra and it is part of the circuit of the Royal Savoy Residences in Turin
of the Piedmontese Corona Delitiae, which has been recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The building started in year 1729 and continued throughout the XVIII century. The complex of the
"Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi" consists of 137 rooms and 17 galleries; the artistic heritage includes works
from the XVIII century: frescoes, paintings, furniture, objects, sculptures of great value.
After 6 years of restoration, and up to 31/10/2013, you can visit 20 rooms of the royal apartment and the central hall.
Tours possible every days except Monday. From Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5.30 pm;
Saturdays and holidays from 10 am to 6.30 pm. Guided tours by appointment.
Fares: Adults 12.00€, Reduced 8.00€ (seniors over 65, young people from 6 to 18 years).
